Piverdière : Big changes to come in 2011-2012

In January, the construction of a 300 seats stand around the honour pitch, on which the reserve play (Ed.: to be financed by the city of Rennes, this construction has been the subject of an invitation to tender until the end of March) and the construction of additional infrastructures for the Academy and the amateur section had already been announced.
This Tuesday, the club confirmed – through Pierre Dréossi – these projects while revealing another one. This week marks the beginning of the building of another training pitch, which quality will be identical to the Stade de la Route de Lorient pitch’s , and should mainly be used in winter.

The pitch on which the professional squad currently trained has indeed been judged too muddy in winter, a factor which could explain – according to the club – the many injuries. These new installations should be usable for the professional squad next season. Their cost is completely paid for by the Stade Rennais, the general manager also precised.
