Reserve: Gaëtan Caro still believes

Captain of the Stade Rennes reserve, Gaëtan Caro is having a difficult season. On a one-year professional contract, the midfielder only appeared once in Frédéric Antonetti’s squad, without playing (in the Coupe de France’s Round of 32, in Vaulx-en-Velin).

Questioned by website football35.fr, the man from the Cotes d’Armor still believes the club can remain in the CFA Division. “We definitely need to win this week-end and then start a run of good games, he explained before a decisive game against Luçon, fifteenth in the league. As long as we are not mathematically condemned… We can’t give up now, at training or in the week-end. We all do our best to save the situation. We will be rewarded at some point”.

In a difficult situation with his team-mates, Caro also struggles on an individual point of view, with a disappointing first season as a professional. “I am disappointed with my season, he affirmed. I’m not living it well. I had been promised I would train with the professional squad and this isn’t the case at all. I hoped to reach another step this season…”. Before the end of April, the Stade Rennais will announced if they decide to raise the option and extend or not the player’s contract.
