Coupe de la Ligue : Rennes will enter in the round of 16

This Wednesday, the LFP announced the date for the draw for the Coupe de la Ligue’s round of 32, on August 11th. This draw will not involve Stade Rennais, exempted of this round.

Indeed, just as the other five clubs qualified for the European Cups (Lille, Marseille, Lyon, Paris et Sochaux), Stade Rennes will enter the competition in the round of 16, to be played on 25th and 26th October. However, if the system remains the same as last year, the “Rouge et Noir” won’t be seeded for this draws, since only the teams having finished in the first four places in Ligue 1 last season will.
