Dalmat : « Warned from the beginning »

Interviewed before his return to the Italian grounds – eight years after he left Inter – Stéphane Dalmat started the match at stadio Friuli. Rarely starting games this year, the midfielder said that he doesn’t take offence of the evolution of his status.

Today, with the arrival of Féret and the affirmation of Pajot, the experienced midfielder has only little playing time. « For the moment, the young players who play at my position have the expected level, added Dalmat. I’m trying to put them under a little pressure in order to force them to continue to raise their level: I’m trying to show them that I’m here ; if they slacken off, I’m just behind! Let them continue like that, but I’m trying to bring them all I can ».

Since his contract ends in next June, Dalmat could have left this summer after having understood that he wouldn’t start as many matches as last year. « I could have left . There was many things. But I didn’t express the will to leave and none in the club asked me to leave, even if they do not really count on me ». Arrived in Rennes « to live great moments, such as the European Cup », the veteran of the professional group wishes this year « to take as much pleasure as possible » by being decisive on the ground. With five assists for only two matches started, he is on the right way.
