Discipline : a limited ban for Kana-Biyik

Dismissed against Évian Thonon-Gaillard ON Saturday, after he pushed Saber Khlifa at the end of the game, Jean-Armel Kana-Biyik has been banned for one game plus one suspended game by the LFP’s Commission of discipline.

The ban will be served this Saturday in Nice. As for the suspended sentence, it will be triggered next time the Rennes defender receives a yellow card. The next booking will therefore result in a second one-match ban for Kana-Biyik.

In contrary to what could have been feared, the commission doesn’t seem to have given too much attention to the contact between Bertrand Laquait and Victor Hugo Montaño, which resulted in the Evian goalkeeper suffering a broken shin. The Rennes striker should therefore avoid any ban for a challenge which he assured was completely involuntary.
