Former players: Makhtar N'Diaye reappears

It had been four years since the latest news from Makhtar N’Diaye, when he left the Glasgow Rangers, where he barely played, in 2007. The former wonderkid from the Rennes Academy has reappeared today, since he signed a contract, according to Ouest-France, at La Vitréenne (CFA).

A Senegal international – he played in the 202 World Cup with the Teranga Lions, N’Diaye had made his professional debuts with the Stade Rennais just before his 18th birthday,
A set of promising performances had raised high hopes on the player, but these were never confirmed. The midfielder, who played nearly sixty games in Ligue 1 with the “Rouge et Noir”, never really managed to become a regular first-team player in Brittany. Leaving the club in 2005, N’Diaye went on to play for Yverdon (Switzerland) before being recruited by Paul Le Guen at Glasgow Rangers.

Back in Brittany and now 29 years old, N’Diaye will be one of the gambles made by the Vitré management in their bid to secure promotion to the National division in the 2011-2012 season.
