International, U20 : Mavinga withdrawn ?

Three days before the opening of the U20 World Cup, the French selection could lose one of its best players. And it would be the new Rennes’ player Chris Mavinga who, according to L’Équipe, suffers from a sprain on his left ankle.
Francis Smerecki would be forced to find an alternative solution if the withdrawal of Mavinga was to be confirmed in the next few hours. The FIFA actually authorizes the replacement of a player, at the condition that the change is completed at least 24 hours before the beginning of the competition.

In case Mavinga was to forfeit, Rennes would still be represented on this World Cup, since Cheick Fantamady Diarra is a member of the Malian squad, which will face France on July 5th in Cali as part of the group stage. Les Bleus open their tournament in the night between Saturday and Sunday against the host country, Colombia.
