Rennes - Marseille already sold out

All tickets for the next Rennes-Marseille game have already been sold. Three days after the sale was opened, no seat is left to buy for the game, on March 11th at the Route de Lorient.

Tuesday, the online ticketing service has been overwhelmed, with 8000 tickets sold during the day. Only the game between Rennes and Juventus Turin in 1999 had managed a better score on the first day, the club announced on its official website.

Historically, the home game against Olympique de Marseille is one of the most popular matches at the Route de Lorient. It is during one of these games against Marseille that the record attendance at the Stade de la Route de Lorient in its current setup has been established. On August 20th, 2005, 29,490 spectators had gathered to witness Rennes’ victory, three goals to two.
Because of the suppressions of seats following the installation of the two giant screens, this record should not be beaten in the future, except in the case of a future further expansion of the Stadium.
