Souprayen: “I hold no grudges”

Souprayen: “I hold no grudges”

Transferred from Stade Rennais to Dijon this summer, Samuel Souprayen prepares for his reunion with his training club with no particular feeling for revenge, this Sunday in what will be Dijon’s first ever game in Ligue 1.

The left back, questioned by Dijon based information media Gazette Info, admits that his team isn’t favourite, but he promises they will do the best out of their ability.
Not kept by the club after a mediocre first season in Ligue 1, the defender from the Reunion holds no grudge against his training club, nor against Frédéric Antonetti. “I learnt a lot from [him], Souprayen affirmed. If he is where he is, there is a good reason. He knows football very well and I improved a lot with him. I don’t know whether he wanted me to leave or if it was the club’s decision only…”. This, even though the player was regularly targeted by his manager during the games, for his inconsistent performances with the Rennes shirt on.

«I hold no grudges against Rennes, Souprayen continues. This will be a particular game for me since I spent several great years in Rennes: I was trained there, I won the Gambardella Cup and I met good friends. M’Vila, Brahimi, Camara or Théophile-Catherine. It will be great to see them again ». In Dijon, where he is Patrice Carteron’s first choice at left back, Souprayen should be finding an ideal ground to exploit his full potential.
