Reserves : A struggle and a Premiere

CFA, Stade Rennais 2-1 Viry-Châtillon. After two defeats in two games, the Stade Rennais Reserve had to react against Viry-Châtillon. Soon trailing despite their domination of the game, Laurent Huard’s men managed to turn things and ended up taking the edge over a tough opposition. Carrasso, Mandjeck, Souprayen and Tettey all started in this game.

Reserves : A struggle and a Premiere

At first sight, Laurent Huard’s team was looking rather promising, with the presence of a score of players from the first team such Johann Carrasso, Georges Mandjeck, Samuel Souprayen (photo) and Alexander Tettey, not used by Antonetti this week-end. The aim was to keep them in the rhythm and ready for future fixtures.

9 professionnals on the pitch !

Between the posts, Carasso replaced Vincent Dorel, who played last week against Moulins (2-1). In defence, John Boye was back on the pitch after sorting a few administrative problems, and started at an unusual right back position, with Jean-Armel Kana-Biyik and Bira Dembélé partnering in central defence. On the left, Souprayen came back to the field after three Ligue 1 games seen from the bench.

At midfield, Mandjeck and Tettey started alongside captain Gaëtan Caro. The Cameroon international started in front of the defence and made a good use of the football along with a very important work to break the opposition’s move. Lacking fitness, Tettey only played one hour on this game, his second only since the pre-season started, after a first match against Saint Malo (CFA2, 4-0)

Forwards, Abdoul Camara and Quentin Rouger took the wings with Julienne in the centre. Julienne and Rouger were the only two players without a professional contract to start the game. Fabien Balisier (centre defence or right back), Jean-Bryan Boukaka (striker), Vincent Dorel (goalkeeper), Jonathan Isambart (attacking midfielder) and Slimane Sissoko (striker) sat on the bench, while Kévin Makila-Mutombo (striker, right winger) was left out of the squad.
