Bangoura and Gyan on their way, Gouffran in Rennes ?

A few hours before the end of the transfer market, things are quickly evolving. Asamoah Gyan and Ismaël Bangoura seem well on their way to foreign clubs. To replace these departures, Rennes is thought to be following former U21 French international Yoan Gouffran (Bordeaux).

Bangoura and Gyan on their way, Gouffran in Rennes ?

No transfer market had ever been marked with such activity in Rennes. Indeed, the Stade Rennais is now thought to have agreed on the departures of Ismaël Bangoura et Asamoah Gyan, while Yoan Gouffran’s possible recruitment has come up as possible replacement.

Bangoura on loan, 15 million euros for Gyan ?

Lacking confidence in Rennes, Ismaël Bangoura could soon be heading for pastures new, has he is expected to sign in Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates) for a loan with a purchase option of 8 million euros. This option would be automatically triggered by the number of games played by the player with the club. The Guinean player was in the Gulf today to visit the Arab club’s infrastructures.

As for Asamoah Gyan he should sign for Sunderland very soon, commanding a transfer fee of 15 million euros. Seen at Newcastle airport this Monday, the Ghanaian international was travelling to Sunderland to negotiate the conditions of his transfer with the “Black Cats”. The negotiations were based on a four year contract. In Sunderland, Gyan could compose a promising attack partnership with English international striker Darren Bent.

Rennes eyes on Gouffran

If the two African internationals were to leave, the Stade Rennais would take information on Bordeaux’ Yoan Gouffran, currently a back-up choice in Gironde, after the signings of Fahid Ben Khalfallah and Anthony Modeste.

Trained as a winger, the Guadeloupe born forward can also play on a more central position. His profile would match Antonetti’s needs perfectly, as the Rennes manager is eager to sign a player able to play on a side and in the depth. Seeing his current situation in Bordeaux, the player would certainly welcome the opportunity to re-launch his career in a club as ambitious as Rennes.

As opposed to Kévin Gameiro, his transfer (or loan) would not be as costly, as the Lorient management repeat since the beginning of the transfer window that Gameiro would only leave for an “exceptional offer” (at least 15 million euros). If he had not signed to Olympique de Marseille, Loïc Rémy would probably have been targeted by Rennes to fill the right winger position.
