Europa League: A Swiss court wants to invalidate the results

After pronouncing a verdict favourable to the FC Sion last Tuesday, the Swiss justice has been unimpressed by the reject of the appeal made by the Helvetic club to the UEFA (read previously).

This Friday, the day after the first game day of Europa League’s group stage, the FC Sion has published an order from the canton court of Vaud on its website, forbidding the UEFA to validate the results of the Group I games played on Thursday (Udinese - Rennes and Atlético - Celtic).
This freezing of results has been announced as « immediately executable » until UEFA and FC Sion meet during an audience to be held on September 27th. This audience will be held two days before the second game day of the Group Stage, scheduled for September 29th, and in which Rennes should host Madrid while Udinese travels to Glasgow.

Reacting to the news, the UEFA indicated they had no comment to make, and affirmed they had requested their « lawyers to examine what is exactly meant by the Swiss court », according ti the AFP. More in the next episode…
