Douchez : a huge waste of talent?

Leaving Stade Rennes behind him to sign for PSG, Nicolas Douchez thought he had taken the best decision. The arrival of Qatari investors and the recruitment of an Italian international goalkeeper are now putting his status as a first choice keeper in Paris in question. Enough to make his divorce with the Stade Rennais look like a huge waste.

Rennes stronger than the heat

Europa League, Rustavi 2 - 5 Stade rennais. In the furnace of the Boris-Paichadze Stadium, the “Rouge et Noir” managed a good start of the season. Led by an excellent Pitroipa, they set-up a few records and earned the possibility to prepare the return to Ligue 1 in all quietness.

Rennes won't have to worry

Dominant, the Bretons easily beat a Georgian team rapidly reduced to ten men and which opened wide spaces. Destination Georgia

For their entrance in the Europa League, Stade Rennes will finally face Georgian club Metallurg Rustavi, which eliminated Pavlodar and qualified for the third qualifying round. The Rennes squad will therefore be soon preparing their trip to Caucasus.

Some good football, but no goals

Friendly, Stade rennais 0 - 2 Sochaux. Frédéric Antonetti’s players were severely beaten on Wednesday evening at the Stade de la Route de Lorient, by a team also qualified for this season’s Europa League. The Rennais were far from being transparent during the game however.
