A Detailed Squad Review of the 2010-2011 Stade Rennais (Part 2)

With eleven players leaving the club this summer, the Stade Rennais showed much activity on the transfer market, adding six new recruits to the professional squad. With a renewed defence, a midfield lacking spontaneity and an attack missing Jimmy Briand, the “Rouge et Noir” will probably need some time before being able to display their full ability as a team.

Transfers : What is Rennes playing at?

Speaking to RMC, Pierrre Dréossi gave a new update on the club’s summer transfer market. For the first time, he didn’t refuse the possibility of Gyan leaving the club this summer, in case a “serious offer” was addressed. Friendly Game: Rennes draws against Caen

A week before the Ligue 1 kick-off against Lille, the Stade Rennais was held to a draw by Caen (1-1) for their final preparation friendly. Rennes scored first through Bangoura (34’), butCaen replied only 5 minutes later with a goal by El Arabi (39’). For this final test, Antonetti had decided to leave M’Vila and Montaño (banned for the first Ligue 1 game) on the bench. Souprayen, injured against Warsaw on Wednesday, was rested and left on the bench for this game.

Caen - Stade Rennais : The final warm-up
