Less than ten days from the Ligue 1 restart, the pre-season goes on at the Stade Rennais, with a second summer camp in Ouistreham (Normandy). At the end of this short, 3 days long training camp, the “Rouge et Noir” will play their final friendly game against Caen, this Saturday.

For their penultimate preparation game to the 2010-2011 season, Rennes won on their Route de Lorient pitch against the Legia Warsaw (1-0). A success snatched in the second half through a penalty by Leroy (75’) after a foul on Montaño.

After two consecutive defeats, the Stade Rennais hosts Polish side Legia Warsaw this Wednesday (18h00) at the Stade de la Route de Lorient. This Monday, Mickaël Pagis announced his retirement from football. The Stade Rennais striker, big favourite of the Route de Lorient supporters, is now thinking about his future. He is considering joining Frédéric Antonetti’s staff as a coach for the attacking lines.

Mickaël Pagis invited the press to La Piverdière this afternoon, to officially announce his retirement from football, aged 37. Brought to Rennes by Pierre Dréossi in 2007, the striker from Angers managed to make himself a special place in the supporters’ hearts with his incredible technical skills and a few moments of magic.

A first-choice substitutes since several seasons, Romain Danzé is expect to enter the starting eleven as a right back this year… if Rod Fanni’s transfer is completed. After the defeat against Brest in the last friendly, Frédéric Antonetti is in doubt. The Stade Rennais manager is convinced his team won’t be at its full potential for the restart of the Ligue 1 season. Mainly because of recurrent problems in front of the goals, but also due to the absence of several player.

Rennes has been defeated by Brest (0-1) Wednesday evening, for their third pre-season friendly. A game in which Antonetti could try a few changes to his usual starting line-up, with Dalmat – a new signing – and Brahimi included in the starting eleven. The attacking line was composed of Bangoura, Montaño & Marveaux.
